Intro to Holotropic Breathwork
Join Grof-certified facilitator, Kirsten Kairos, for an in-depth conversation about Holotropic Breathwork and the use of expanded states of awareness for increased consciousness, healing and transformation.
Holotropic Breathwork is a safe method of self-exploration and healing through an expanded state of awareness. Developed by world-renowned psychiatrist and psychedelic researcher, Stanislav Grof, Holotropic Breathwork invites the breather on a deep journey inward supported by accelerated breath, evocative music, requested focused energy release techniques, as well as integrative process via mandala drawing and group sharing. It should also be noted that the role of “sitter” used in this method is equally profound. This process is for those wanting to identify and release old patterns, to heighten creativity, to understand the importance of purposeful transformation, to open to positive possibilities, to heal past traumas and benefit from clearing unprocessed life experience that may be cluttering the path to living with authenticity, choice and purpose.
This event will last no more than 2 1/2 hours, and will include a discussion about Holotropic Breathwork: the elements of a typical session, the possibilities of personal experience, the importance of releasing stagnant energy in the body for mental and physical wellness, and a little about the history of Holotropic Breathwork and its founder, Stan Grof.
Sitting up with eyeshades on, we will have a short experiential piece to feel into what the breathing pattern might be for you, to deeply listen to brief examples of the type of evocative music that is played and to feel into the potential range of energetic release with body movement and sounding.
What to Bring: Loose comfortable layered clothing, water bottle, journal & pen
Tea and a light snack will be provided.
We look forward to deepening the conversation about expanded states of awareness!
