A Few Gentle Guidelines
Can I visit Soulful Prairies?
Soulful Prairies offers many events and opportunities for you to visit our property. We encourage you to explore our website and discover what resonates with you. During non-event hours, we ask that you schedule a visit or appointment.
Can I bring my pets to Soulful Prairies?
For the safety of your pets and our herd and critters, outside pets are not allowed on the property.
I found a small turtle while at Soulful Prairies. Can I take it home?
Soulful Prairies honors our animals and the wildlife of the prairie. We kindly ask you to leave any wildlife you discover in their “home”.
Gestalt
Do you ride horses during equine gestalt therapy?
Riding experience is not necessary or required to participate in equine gestalt therapy at Soulful Prairies. While some stables may offer riding with their therapy models, we do not.
Are sessions covered by my insurance?
While Linda’s equine gestalt services aren’t covered by insurance, some guests have been able to use their HSA or FSA funds for experiences at Soulful Prairies. We suggest checking with your provider to see if that might be an option for you.
Property
When did you buy the land?
The family purchased the 80-acre parcel, once a former apple orchard, in 2010.
Do you farm any products?
Horses
How many horses do you have?
Soulful Prairies owns 7 horses, a mini horse, and a mini donkey, and we are currently boarding 3 horses.
Do you board horses?
While not a main area of our business, we board 3 horses. We do not hold a waiting list for potential boarders as we don’t want to create the expectation that there will be future openings.
Do your horses live inside or outside?
Our horses mostly live outdoors. Most horses prefer being outdoors to being kept in a stall, as long as they have shelter, companions, and access to food and water. They have access to run in shelters, and stalls are available when needed during severe weather, for medical reasons, for feeding, or for safety.
