The Business

Soulful Prairies was created in 2014, and Linda welcomed her first clients in 2015.

Soulful Prairies is an equine gestalt therapy and retreat center, working with individuals, couples, families, work groups, and clients of non profit agencies.

A Few Gentle Guidelines

Soulful Prairies offers many events and opportunities for you to visit our property. We encourage you to explore our website and discover what resonates with you. During non-event hours, we ask that you schedule a visit or appointment.

For the safety of your pets and our herd and critters, outside pets are not allowed on the property.

Soulful Prairies honors our animals and the wildlife of the prairie. We kindly ask you to leave any wildlife you discover in their “home”.

Gestalt

Riding experience is not necessary or required to participate in equine gestalt therapy at Soulful Prairies. While some stables may offer riding with their therapy models, we do not.

While Linda’s equine gestalt services aren’t covered by insurance, some guests have been able to use their HSA or FSA funds for experiences at Soulful Prairies. We suggest checking with your provider to see if that might be an option for you.

Property

The family purchased the 80-acre parcel, once a former apple orchard, in 2010.

A tenant farmer operates their business on the front two acres of the property. A local beekeeper tends to the bee hives, and a small lavender patch has been planted.

Horses

Soulful Prairies owns 7 horses, a mini horse, and a mini donkey, and we are currently boarding 3 horses.

While not a main area of our business, we board 3 horses. We do not hold a waiting list for potential boarders as we don’t want to create the expectation that there will be future openings.

Our horses mostly live outdoors. Most horses prefer being outdoors to being kept in a stall, as long as they have shelter, companions, and access to food and water. They have access to run in shelters, and stalls are available when needed during severe weather, for medical reasons, for feeding, or for safety.

Other Critters

We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a pig, 2 goats, 2 ducks, and chickens.
Most of the animals that reside at Soulful Prairies enjoy the company of people; however, we ask that you respect their personalities and space.
